Where are our cottages located?

We have cottages in Harmans Cross, Beaminster, Arne, Langton Matravers, Studland, Swanage, Corfe Mullen ,Wareham and Worth Matravers.

What is so special about the area?

Well the answer to that is simple; Swanage itself is a stunning Victorian coastal town that sits on the eastern edge of the Jurassic Coast, and enjoys mild temperatures all year round. The town is under an hour away from both Weymouth and Bournemouth and enjoys a short ferry ride to the coastal town of Poole. Arne is a delightful village just a short drive from the neighbouring historic market town of Wareham and is ideal if you enjoy beautiful scenery, the great outdoors, and love wildlife spotting.

If you're after an active holiday, Dorset is the place to be. If walking is your thing, there are plenty of walking routes to be discovered around the county, both coastal walks and countryside treks. Whatever the weather or time of year, there is a pathway to be explored. We love the South West Coast Path which you can easily access from plenty of our properties in Swanage and surrounding villages. Along the way there is a huge choice of refreshment stops to keep you topped up on coffee, cakes and beer (or whatever your choice of tipple may be!). If you are a walker at heart, have you considered the Swanage Walking Festival which takes place in September every year and hosts lots of interesting walk for all walking enthusiasts.

If you prefer to travel on two wheels around the county, Dorset is the place to be. If you're hiring your equipment we can recommend great companies to hire you a bike and all the equipment you need! Even better, if you book with us, we work with a local bike hire company that offer our guests a special discount during their stay.

Mentioned in the Domesday Book, Beaminster is truly one of Dorset’s hidden gems - nestling in the valley between Bridport and Crewkerne, it's a great place for that “get away from it all” holiday with great walks along the river and surrounding countryside, over 200 hundred listed buildings and some fascinating visitor attractions. Harman's Cross is a small village directly between Swanage and Corfe Castle with fantastic transport links via the railway from neighbouring Swanage. It is a great destination for exploring the rest of Dorset with it being so well connected to other exciting locations nearby. Langton Matravers is a Dorset village blessed with charm and beauty.

It's a very peaceful village location with old stone-built cottages aligning every corner and picturesque green fields filling the backdrop. Studland is a beautiful Domesday village nestled between 4km of golden sands managed by the National Trust on one side and spectacular Heathland on the other. Great connections across the Chain Ferry take you to Bournemouth and Poole and in the other direction a short journey to Corfe Castle and Swanage. Studland is at the start and end of the 630 mile South West Coast Path and the Jurassic Coast.

Wareham is known by the locals as the Gateway to Purbeck. The town has gained this name due to several walking and cycling routes starting in the centre. Worth Matravers is a tranquil hideaway perfect for relaxing and unwinding. In the centre you will also find a small gift shop, a café and the Square and Compass Pub. The café – Worth Matravers Tea Room – is a cracking spot, serving lovely lunches, vintage afternoon teas and delicious suppers.
