Our 2nd stay in Spinners Hatch and once again a most relaxing stay and everything we dared to remember about it, a great location to explore Dorset
Our second time staying in this lovely cottage. We’ve had a great time exploring West Dorset, Somerset & Devon and have been lucky with the weather. The Red Lion and Greyhound provided much needed sustenance!
Amazing cottage. Felt very homely.
Beaminster is a thriving market town with everything you need including a cafe and two pubs which serve food and allow dogs, a Co-op, hardware store, butchers and bakers etc. It is only a short drive to the coast and well located for visiting lots of local attractions.
Beautiful cottage and garden
Lovely place to stay, just like home but with loads more 'olde worlde' character!
Comfy cottage, well equipped and sunny garden all made for a very pleasant week in Dorset
Extremely well presented. Probably one of the cleanest properties we have stayed in that was not new. A comfortable bed and excellent range of games to play. A good book library and information leaflets. First rate all round. It was exceptionally clean and well presented with everything we could have hoped for. Given the cold spell when we arrived, the logs for the stove were much appreciated. The owners and house keeper need to be commended.
A delightful cottage, nicely furnished with everything we needed. The area is fantastic and Beaminster was an ideal base to stay.
Loved the location and quirkiness of the listed building, sloping walls/floor reflect age -1647. We really liked the log burner in the lounge, and large window seat in kitchen which made the room v light. The hanging items drew attention to low ceilings, great idea! Towels were soft and fluffy. Although we didn't use the twin bedroom, I thought it really lovely, warm, cosy and the pine smell from the wooden wardrobe was great. I love having a garden and even in Feb managed a cup of coffee outside. You could hear the peacocks and water from the Manor beyond the garden wall. The welcome cake and milk were just what we needed. Beaminster is an attractive, small market town with many properties dating from the Stuart and Georgian period. It has a range of independent shops, cafes, bakeries, pubs and eating places all within walking distance. Very pleased to see a butchers as they appear to be dying out, good range of products too. A short car ride to Lyme Regis and West Bay. Quieter beaches to be found at Seatown and Hive Beach. Palmer's brewery shop at Bidford is a good place to stock up on their beers or ciders, they also do brewery tours and have many wines. There is a bus service if you do not wish always take the car.
