We have a winner!
Last month, we paired up with Dorset Cereals to bring you a smashing competition to win a three night short break at The Old Dairy House in Arne. The competition ran for a week on the Dorset Cereal website and we're awarded one lucky winner with the prize.
It was a good day, the day I got to give the good news to Kate Higgins from Farndon (a village near Chester). Here is her reaction!
How did you hear about the competition?
On the Dorset cereals website.
Why did you decide to enter the Dorset Cereals competition?
I first became aware of the Dorset Cereals competitions a year or two back with their December advent calendar which offers fantastic prizes. In the last few months I've also being going in for the daily and monthly competitions every now and again, as the prizes are also exactly the kind of thing I'd like to win - but usually never do!
How did you feel when you won?
Surprised! I go in for these competitions often, but you never really expect to win, and I did a double take when the message popped up telling me I'd won! Very excited of course!
You’ve decided to extend the short break prize to a full week, who will be joining you?
My family: my husband and children, my parents, my sister and brother in law and my niece.
What do you plan to do on holiday in Dorset?
Visit local beaches with the children, search for fossils, go to RSPB sanctuary and National Trust beaches, and visit Bridport, Purbeck and Lyme Regis.
How often (and where) do you go self-catering in the UK?
At least once a year, sometimes more, and have done for all my life. Often in the South East or the Cotswolds area.
What makes the perfect holiday?
Family, good food, treats, beautiful countryside and nature, time to slow down and enjoy life.
Kate and her family will be enjoying a week's holiday at The Old Dairy House in Arne, next August. The Higgins family show below!
