Jazz at the seaside

Written by Ginny Kay on

We're looking forward to welcoming customers for a weekend of jazz on 10-12th July with the 26th annual Swanage Jazz Festival. Started in 1990 with a small marquee and an even smaller indoor venue the jazz festival has grown and 2015 sees nearly 50 sessions happening at various locations around Swanage featuring bands from across most of the spectrum of jazz.

The full programme of music runs from Friday evening to Sunday evening and includes various family activities to enjoy across the weekend, however the beautiful Dorset countryside outside of Swanage means an extended stay is certainly worth your while. Over 70% of our customers feel that beautiful countryside is one of the top reasons for holidaying in the UK and with the stunning Dorset coastline as seen in Broadchurch and the recent ‘Far from the Madding Crowd’ you can see why. We've has seen an increase in bookings since this time last year with visitors keen to explore those areas seen on film.

Swanage is the classic British seaside resort and over 50% of Wyke customers are repeat bookers who come back year after year to enjoy the traditional seaside holiday in this buzzing little town. Over 86% of Wyke’s customers say they like the flexibility and freedom self-catering offers them and with a selection of over 50 cottages in and around Swanage and many popular events from food festivals to walking festivals taking place across the year, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
