Countdown to Carnival

Swanage Regatta and Carnival Week begins on the 30th July and we just can't wait!

Swanage Carnival is THE South Coast Carnival, with over 100 events throughout the week for all ages and interests.  Last year over £20,000 was raised for local causes and over 100,000 people came to enjoy all the events; with the most popular, as ever, being the Procession. This year the Procession takes place on Sunday 31st July from 3pm, winding its way along the seafront and through the town for almost 4 kilometres. The theme for this year is "Sit Coms" and "Soaps" so look out for lots of "Madonnas with the big boobies", "Trotters Independent Traders", "Queen Vic's"  and "Mrs Slocombe's pussies"! And make sure you wave when "I dream of Genie" goes by...

Thursday evening sees the Masquerade Magic Night - a chance to dress up, enjoy the revelling and wear a mask! This year you will be able to see the stilt walkers, watch magicians, shimmy with the Baharah Belly Dancers (a particular favourite of ours!) and join in the dancing in the Amphitheatre.

We’ll keep you posted throughout the week on some of the events so look out for our Facebook page and keep your eye on our blogs.  Our entry for the “What’s Not My Line” is already in the window! We are entry number 58, so make sure you come along to our office – we can’t tell you what we’ve put in the window, but we would love to see you.
