Where's Santa?

Written by Nadine Evans on

We’ve decided to put a tracker on Santa this year to make sure that we know where he is and what he is doing in the run up to Christmas. This is partly because Tracy, our Senior Reservations Assistant wants to make absolutely sure that he comes down her chimney. But of course, it’s mostly to ensure that you can track him down yourselves and make sure he knows what’s on your Christmas list!

If you fancy a trip along the Swanage Railway with Santa, you can find him walking up and down the carriages every Saturday and Sunday from now until Christmas Eve.

There’s a Vintage Christmas theme at the Tank Museum in Bovington this weekend and Father Christmas will arrive in his very own tank! With a market, living history talks and a vintage vehicle display, this event will please everyone.

The same weekend you can find Santa in the Swanage Christmas Market.  The Market is a firm favourite in the town, with local crafts, much mulled wine and carol singing.

Farmer Palmer, who lives in Organford near Wareham has invited Santa to his farm each weekend between now and 18th December. He is also popping in on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, so you might be able to see him twice in one week!

Santa is in his grotto in Upton Country Park at the moment. You will be invited to help him feed the reindeer, turkeys and piglets and then you can tell him what’s on your Christmas list! You could make doubly sure that Santa knows what you want by going on to Kingston Lacey near Wimborne or why not have breakfast with him at Compton Acres Gardens in Poole?

If you fancied something a bit different you could join Santa on a boat and cruise around Poole Harbour, taking in the sights of Brownsea Island, spotting Corfe Castle in the distance or having a peak into some of the mansions along the Sandbanks coastline.

Santa will be enjoying the events in Bridport on 7th December when the town comes alive with carol singing, reindeer, live music, street dance and craft stalls lining the streets. The following day Dorchester holds its Christmas Cracker.  Santa will be on his Grotto Bus enjoying the rock choir, performing arts and Christmas Market.

Keep an eye on our Facebook page as we continue to track him throughout  December.  We are determined that Tracy will get all the presents she deserves...
