Description

Located in the hamlet of Shave Cross, approximately 5 miles from Bridport, and only 4 miles from the beaches at Eype and Charmouth, Allviews is the perfect getaway to relax and enjoy the beautiful West Dorset countryside.  Shave Cross has a charming local pub/restaurant only 500 yards from the property, and is a fantastic location for walking in and around the famous local hills, including Golden Cap and Pilsden Pen. Lyme Regis is within easy reach with its many family attractions.

Situated in the Marshwood Vale, a designated area of outstanding natural beauty, with far reaching views across West Dorset to the Unesco World Heritage Jurassic coast, this delightful period cottage dates back to the 1840s. Over the years, the cottage has been extended and modernised, and now has a lovely, light farmhouse style kitchen, and west facing conservatory.

Allviews has lots of character; from wooden beams and an inglenook fireplace in the living room, to exposed stonework upstairs, and pretty window seats in the bedrooms. On the ground floor there is a shower/utility room, kitchen/dining room and a lovely, light conservatory, which leads to an enclosed rear garden, with outside dining table and seating.  Upstairs are three bedrooms; a king-sized double, a twin and a single, which has a folding bed for an occasional sixth person, and the family bathroom.  All have storage and lovely views across the fields.

Living Room: Large fireplace with feature log burning stove (which we regret in not available for guest use), comfortable seating on leather sofas, window seats, TV and DVD player
Garden: Paved patio with outdoor dining table, sun umbrella and seating, with a further enclosed lawn leading down towards a bottom (closed) gate
Parking: Off road parking for one car at the top of the house, and a layby with additional parking for a further two cars
Linen & towels provided: please bring your own beach towels
Fuel: oil central heating throughout

There is an additional single fold out bed available in the single room
1 small dog welcome.  Please bear in mind there are often sheep in all the adjacent fields
We regret that the log-burner is not available for clients use

Reviews

The only one thing we would ask is made available in future is Wi-Fi. Other than this dont change anything. The property is perfect in so many ways. It's just what Laura and I were looking for. Wi-Fi would make this property outstanding.
