Just for Two
Dorset is an idyllic location boasting golden sands, stunning scenery and picture-postcard villages, making it a superb location for a well-earned getaway. We have a beautiful selection of cottages and apartments that are perfectly suited for couples looking to enjoy this corner of the British Isles.
What makes Dorset a great location for couples?
Dorset is blessed with beaches, walks, restaurants and attractions that are envied by the rest of the country. The region is famed for its Jurassic Coastline which spans for 95 miles, and Swanage (home to the majority of our cottages) is situated at the eastern end. The South West Coast Path also passes through the town, meaning stunning coastal walks are in rich demand.
One of the most popular coastal walks takes you from the centre of Swanage to Spyway Car Park in Langton Matravers. The walk has been given a moderate difficulty, and is roughly 5 and a half miles in length. Beginning in Swanage the walk will take you along the limestone cliffs, through Durlston Country Park, and finally into Langton Matravers. Needless to say, there are plenty of other walks for you to enjoy, or simply discover whilst you are staying in Dorset.
Why not continue your journey of discovery with a trip to one of Dorset’s many historical attractions? Corfe Castle is arguably one of Dorset’s most iconic attractions. The castle with over a thousand years of history overlooks Corfe village, and is a spectacular reminder of the regions past. A day-trip to the castle is a must while you are in the region, and we recommend taking the guided tour around the castle to maximise your visitor experience.
The Swanage railway is another romantic day-out that shouldn’t be passed up. You can hop onto an old steam train and travel around Dorset enjoying your heritage steam railway experience.
Where can you eat and drink?
What better way to enjoy your evening than a romantic meal in one of Dorset’s many restaurants. For the ultimate romantic meal, Sienna Restaurant is the proud owner of a Michelin Star, and serves up exceptional cuisine. For something a little closer to your cottage, The Corner Restaurant in Swanage offers a fine dining experience at an affordable price. The owners pride themselves on serving the very best local produce and you will be sure of a warm welcome inside.
And finally a word must go to the Harbar Bistro in Poole (and no, we've not spelt it incorrectly). The restaurant enjoys a delightfully romantic setting, overlooking the harbour, and they even offer outside seating for the summer months.
