Set towards the end of the peninsular, overlooking Swanage Bay and out to Old Harry Rocks, Rockleigh Cottage was built in the nineteenth century as the gardener's cottage to a large house on the site.  Rockleigh Cottage has been recently converted into a stunning and spacious home.  Perfect for families or groups; one bedroom with an ensuite is located separately on the ground floor.

Peveril Point is located on the most easterly end of the Isle of Purbeck.  The centre of town and sandy beach are a five minute walk away.  It's also just a ten minute walk to open countryside and Durlston Country Park.  Made of Portland stone, Peveril Point is home to the lifeboat organisation in Swanage, and contains a series of underground tunnels connecting disused gun emplacements from World War II.

The property is accessed via a wooden gate, along a path and down an incline with steps through the enclosed garden to a sloping, landscaped lawn. On entering the property through a small entrance hall, there is a kitchen directly ahead of you, with a dining table with seating for six, and sea and garden views.  At the far end of the kitchen is a small cloakroom and utility room.  A larger entrance hall with window seating leads into a cosy living room, with wood burner.  The conservatory overlooks the garden, and from here is found a double bedroom with an ensuite shower room.  There is underfloor heating throughout downstairs, beneath stone flooring.  Wooden stairs lead from the main hallway upstairs.  Wooden flooring can be found throughout upstairs, with radiator heating. At the top of the stairs to the right is a twin room, with storage and views to the sea and the downs.  Further along the corridor is a family bathroom, and the master king sized bedroom, also with twin aspect views.

Rockleigh Cottage was the nicest and best equipped, self catering accommodation we have stayed in. We had a wonderful holiday with our family and would highly recommend both the cottage and the area to our friends.
