Description

A 3 bed end of terrace cottage built in traditional Purbeck stone, decorated and furnished throughout to a high standard with great attention to detail. The property is bursting with character from the moment you step inside and is bound to impress both adults and children alike with its charm.

Located in the older part of town, the award winning sandy beach is just a 5 minute walk away, as the town centre. On road parking can be found outside the cottage, and just round the corner is a very handy convenience store open late every day.  The popular Black Swan pub is at the end of the road and their food comes highly recommended.

Upstairs the 3 bedrooms have all been decorated beautifully, there’s a double bedroom, twin room plus a nautical bunk room with bespoken wooden bunk beds with hidden foot lockers that kids will love. The family bath room with full suite is also on the first floor.

Almost hidden in the wooden clad hallway is a secret door, steep space saver steps lead to an attic play room with seating, miniature pool table and TV. Use the telescope or binoculars to gaze out of the large velux window with views over the town and to the sea. There’s even a little cloakroom with W.C. and basin tucked away.

Downstairs the living room houses some quirky driftwood artwork. There’s comfortable seating, TV and array of games books and DVDs for the whole family.

A separate dining room with large wooden table, feature fireplace and hand painted dresser leads onto the beautiful shaker style kitchen with wooden work tops, built in appliances and all mod cons.

The back door leads out onto a small but perfectly formed garden with mature shrubs and a stone wall. Accessed via 5 steps, the raised patio has seating and further quirky artwork to enjoy in the sun.

Reviews

I booked the cottage for a celebration weekend, what a fantastic base to start from. The cottage has everything, and I mean everything. It is geared up for rain or shine. It is a stone's throw away from several bars and shops, not to mention a few lovely fish and chip shops. Next door is The Black Swan pub, and the food there was fantastic, with a lovely space out back to sit and relax. We enjoyed our stay immensely, and will look back with great fondness.

Absolutely beautiful house, every thing you could possibly need in it, smelt lovely, very clean and beautiful decor. Our girls who are 6 and 9 loved the attic room, if we weren’t at the beach or walking round swanage in an evening they were in there playing with their dolls, they loved the doorbell I had to ring to get them to come down for breakfast! Every little detail has been thought of in this place to suit everyone. Alison the owner was excellent she phoned me a few weeks before as she was going to be away herself when we arrived, she also rung me when I realised I had misplaced the address ( whilst she was on holiday herself) and texted me to check everything was ok, always lovely to talk to and very helpful, couldn’t have asked for more from her. Would highly recommend this place it’s our favourite place to stay so far in swanage and we would definitely book it again in a heart beat! Thanks Alison.

We had a marvellous week in Swanage and beside amazing weather, landscape, seafront and company, the cottage that served us as "sea home" as my 4 years niece put it , contibute to it a lot. Beautifully decorated, practical, amazing for our two kids (4 and 10) that of cour enjoyed enourmsly having their own space in the "secret room under the roof". We ate every day in the garden and enjoyed cooking in the practical kitcken. This cottage will remain the set for some very nice memories !

Excellent property. Great location. Just leave your car at the property. Walk into Swanage High Street and beach within minutes! Property has everything that needed for a few days stay to a weeks stay in Swanage. We shall be back again!

This was our 4th stay! Alison is so helpful to deal with. The house is comfortable, homely, fun for the children and spotlessly clean. So much thought has gone in to the extra touches in terms of both design and practicality (beach equipment, picnic sets/blankets, back packs, brolleys, waterproofs etc etc). The pub next door serves excellent food (book early), the all hours shop a few feet away is so useful. Indian takeaway in walking distance is ok for an easy dinner. Love Cake is well worth a visit! Everything is walking distance: town, beach and the country park (good breakfast to be found at Seventh Wave cafe). When we visit, we don't touch the car for the whole stay! Even if the weather isn't too kind, you can easily pop back to the house to warm up before heading out again. Ideal! We highly recommend a stay and will certainly return.

We stayed Friday 9th Feb to Monday 11th Feb. it was myself, my husband, our 4 year old daughter and my mother in law. The cottage is beautiful. Our daughter loved the bunk room and the secret room in the attic. We loved the cozy lounge with the fire on! Great kitchen. The cottage is beautifully decorated. Great, Central location. Very handy shop around the corner for essential items. Walk to the steam railway. We had a lovely time in Corfe visiting the castle even in the rain and wind! We enjoyed a Sunday roast in the Black Swan pub next door after my mother in law and I walked from Studland back to Swanage. Alison was so helpful with details, and it was very easy with the booking, directions and access. We Highly recommend staying here. We hope to come again. perfect for a winter or summer break!
