May Cottage is a charming retreat, tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the town centre yet still close to local attractions. The property is a 20 minute walk from the beach and town but benefits from excellent amenities nearby including a butcher, a local pub, fish and chip shop and Indian takeaway. The cottage provides a real home from home, with country style decor throughout and little touches to make your stay special. The property has recently undergone a complete redecoration and considerable refurbishment improvement works and the vast majority of furniture and appliances are brand new.

The traditional shaker style kitchen is a perfect place to rustle up a meal, with feature Belfast sink, Belling Range cooker, flagstone flooring, island with barstool seating for four and solid wood worktops it has been made to feel a relaxing and enjoyable space.

Double doors open out from the kitchen / breakfast room to a sunroom, with seating for 6–8 giving your family more space to enjoy meals together, catch up on their own TV programmes or play games as a family. To the side of this, there is also a handy separate utility area.

Double patio doors open from the sunroom out to the decked garden area. Also on the ground floor is a cosy living room, complete with Smart TV and sound bar.

On the first floor you will find two bedrooms with equal flexibility depending on the nature and size of your party. The twin bedroom benefits from zip and link style beds that can be made up as a king size bed on request. Across the corridor is a bunk room, with triple trundle bed meaning the bedroom can sleep 3 children or teens comfortably. Both bedrooms have very generous wardrobe and drawer space.

Also on the first floor you will find the stunning family bathroom, complete with rustic wood panelling and a large walk in shower.

Climb the stairs to the second floor to the loft conversion where you will find a stunning, airy double bedroom with feature bed, occasional chair, Velux windows and plenty of wardrobe and drawer space. There is an adjacent W.C. and wash hand basin - offering an element of privacy to larger parties or families holidaying together.

The sunny enclosed garden to the rear is an inviting and relaxing space to unwind and enjoy a drink in the evenings, fully enclosed for children and four legged friends. Picnic table, large umbrella and comfy outdoor sofa style seating offer variety for meals at all times of day, perfect for al fresco dining! There is a barbecue for guest use too.

Swanage is a traditional seaside town its Victorian pier, sandy beaches and access to the coastal path - it makes a great base to explore the local area as well as other parts of Dorset. We really enjoyed our stay in May Cottage. There was plenty of room for our family and we really appreciated the family-friendly touches - highchair, travel cot and stair gates. The cottage is decorated to a really high standard and everything is very comfortable. The outside area had loads of seating and was a sun trap at dinnertime. Having the parking spot right outside was also a bonus. It's a shame there's no bath, but the addition of the collapsible baby bath was useful. It is a bit of a walk into town, but lovely views across the area. We loved our stay here.
