Worth Matravers Cottages
You may well have seen Worth Matravers featuring on a postcard or two over the years.
The Duck Pond in the centre of the village is always popular with photographers and tourists, looking for the perfect village picture.
Why holiday in Worth Matravers?
Much like it’s duck pond, the village is a tranquil hideaway perfect for relaxing and unwinding. Limestone cottages and farmhouses make up the village, and I was once told that any new house in the village must be constructed from local stone, directly from one of the local quarries. In the centre you will also find a small gift shop, a café and the Square and Compass Pub. The café – Worth Matravers Tea Room – is a cracking spot, serving lovely lunches, vintage afternoon teas and delicious suppers.
The village enjoys a fabulous community atmosphere, and you will be made to feel very welcome when you visit. The main hub of the community is the Square and Compass Pub, serving award winning beer or cider, freshly squeezed by the owner himself. They also host regular live music throughout the year, mainly in the evenings and on Sunday afternoons.
Are there any beaches close to Matravers?
